Living with MS since 2017

I’m Grace, and I’m an actor and singer and have recently become a full-time mum! I was diagnosed with MS in 2017 after having trouble with my legs, memory, and vision. One of my oldest friends has MS, so I wasn’t fazed by the condition, and she helped normalise it for me.

Get a grip!
Plan around your MS
Be aware of your limitations and look after yourself
Know where the toilets are
Reach out to your fellow MSers

1. Get a grip!

The gadget that I've placed on the back of my phone is so helpful! Because my hands are weak and my grip isn't always great, this has saved my phone from death many times!

2. Plan around your MS

3. Be aware of your limitations and look after yourself   If I’m out with a friend and my legs begin to feel unstable, rather than trying to power through, I’ll take some time out to sit down and rest. Have the confidence to know what you need and put yourself first.

4. Know where the toilets are If you go somewhere new, make sure you know where the toilets are! Even if you don’t need to use them – it'll give you peace of mind and help you relax and enjoy yourself.

5. Reach out to your fellow MSers We're all in this together, and it's nice to have someone to chat to and hang out with who gets it!
